MessageMedia review (now Sinch Engage)

Sinch Engage, formerly Sinch MessageMedia, is a Stockholm-headquartered global SMS marketing and communications platform owned by Sinch AB, with a registered Australian entity and a Melbourne office. It publishes no Australian dollar rate card, selling monthly message bundles with an unlabelled dollar sign instead, so you must confirm the currency. Every plan includes a free Australian virtual mobile number, and it holds a SOC 2 Type I certification.

Right for you if
  • One Australian virtual mobile number included free on every plan
  • 24/7 chat and ticket support, with a Melbourne phone line in business hours
  • 4.5 from 63 G2 reviews and a 14-day trial with no credit card
  • Sends by API, email-to-SMS, two-way SMS, MMS and SMPP
Look elsewhere if
  • No Australian dollar rate is published, so pricing requires a sales conversation
  • Bundled monthly plans rather than pay-as-you-go, and credits do not roll over
  • The 99.95% uptime commitment sits with legacy terms for customers who signed up before 1 July 2026, and the new Sinch Engage Terms incorporate no SLA
  • The rebrand on 28 July 2026 and the Australian site redirect on 1 September 2026 landed about five weeks apart for existing customers to track

Where Sinch Engage stands

MessageMedia became Sinch Engage on 28 July 2026, and the Australian pricing page was retired on 1 September, so there is no longer an Australian dollar rate card an Australian buyer can read. The redirect from messagemedia.com/au/ now lands on an Australian landing page rather than the generic sinch.com/engage homepage, and the Australian legal pages still load on messagemedia.com under a rebranding banner. The replacement pricing page sells monthly message bundles with an unlabelled dollar sign and signup links carrying a US country code. The platform, the Melbourne team and existing contract terms are stated as unchanged, and every plan includes a free Australian virtual mobile number. It runs on Sinch's own global network, not a third-party aggregator, and holds a SOC 2 Type I certification.
