SMSGlobal pricing

SMSGlobal prices on a single-transaction basis. Its pricing page carries one readable figure, a floor claim of so many cents per message in AUD excluding GST, with a footnote that prices apply when you buy in a single transaction. That figure is not tied to any volume, so you cannot read what a regular monthly send would cost.

The "Volume pricing" section directly beneath the floor claim is the problem. Its table, headed "SMS volume single transaction" and "Per message", has no rows. This site verified that three ways on one date and again with a JavaScript render ten days later, and the table was still empty each time. The table heading also now shows EUR while the floor claim above it stays in AUD with Australia selected.

The costs you cannot see matter as much as the one you can. Dedicated number cost, inbound rate and setup fee are all unpublished. A free account comes with test credits, no credit card and no commitment, so you can trial the platform before any of this bites.

Those gaps in the published rates are easier to judge once you know what the platform actually does.

SMSGlobal features for Australian senders

SMSGlobal publishes a full set of sending methods. Its API, email to SMS, two-way SMS and SMPP are all published, and its SMPP page states it supports the industry standard SMPP protocol. On MMS it says you can send bulk campaigns with images, video and rich media through its platform.

Sender types are equally broad. It publishes dedicated numbers, shared numbers and alphanumeric sender IDs. Its tech FAQ says you can use its shared pool of numbers with the HTTP API, and that when you send from the shared numbers you do not have to set the from parameter. It publishes nothing either way on RCS to Australian mobiles, so this site makes no claim there.

Routes matter to delivery, and SMSGlobal states its position plainly. Its SMPP API page describes SMPP as a direct connection to carriers that provides instant delivery. Its two-way SMS page advertises Premium routing. No carrier is named, which is normal, but the claims themselves are direct.

Those routing claims sit alongside a sender ID story that Australian businesses now need to check.

SMSGlobal sender ID and the ACMA register

ACMA's approved list for the SMS Sender ID Register lists SMSGlobal under its own name as a certified telco, entry SMSGLOBAL PTY LTD. For your business, this means you can register a sender ID through it rather than through a provider with no listing. Its alphanumeric sender ID support means the registered name can appear as the sender on compatible handsets.

The register listing is a foundation, but day to day you will deal with support, and that is where its record is mixed.

SMSGlobal support and reputation

Support runs around the clock, with an Australian phone line, a contact form and a knowledge base. The phone number is published, and the head office is in South Melbourne with data stated as hosted and managed in Australia. For an Australian business that wants a local voice during a sending failure, this is a genuine strength.

The reputation record is weaker. SMSGlobal holds 2.9 from 176 Trustpilot reviews and a lower score from a smaller pool on ProductReview.com.au. Its two-way SMS page claims 99.95% uptime claimed on the two-way SMS page; no customer SLA document, credit schedule or remedy is published uptime, but no customer SLA document, credit schedule or remedy is published. Its Our Story page gives a Melbourne founding in one year while its own blog post marking its anniversary puts the start two years earlier. Those inconsistencies are worth weighing before you commit.

Who SMSGlobal suits

SMSGlobal suits an Australian business that values local presence above published rates. You get a South Melbourne head office, Australian-hosted data, around the clock phone support and a free account to test with. A business that sends large volumes and needs to compare a per message rate before committing will find that impossible here.

Look elsewhere if price certainty drives your choice. Twilio's Australian page has the same empty table fault, but Twilio at least publishes a list rate behind it. SMSGlobal publishes only a floor claim, no volume rate at all, and unpublished number and inbound costs. A buyer comparing providers on cost cannot complete the comparison from its own pages.
