ClickSend Review For Australian Businesses [2026 Updated]

ClickSend publishes 24/7 support, a 99.95% uptime SLA, a status page and an outage procedure, and its 3,569 Trustpilot reviews are the largest public sample in this file. Its rate falls with the size of a single top-up rather than with monthly volume, so the cheapest published rate is a working-capital decision as much as a pricing one. It was founded in Perth in 2013. MessageMedia bought ClickSend in 2019; Sinch then acquired MessageMedia, the deal announced 9 June 2021 and completed 5 November 2021, with ClickSend already named as a MessageMedia sub-brand in Sinch's own announcement. ClickSend's own site instead states it "joined the Sinch Group in 2022", a year the Sinch investor record does not support.

1K 7.20c
15K 6.70c
125K 6.20c
250K 5.70c

ClickSend tiers by the size of a single top-up, not by monthly volume: 7.2c from a $20 top-up, 6.7c from $500, 6.2c from $3,000 and 5.7c from $10,000, AUD excluding taxes. The four figures here are the band a buyer reaches by topping up enough credit to cover that month's sending, worked from ClickSend's own published credit table. Reaching 5.7c requires a single $10,000 purchase, which buys about 175,000 messages, so a 125,000-a-month sender either pays 6.2c or pre-buys ahead of usage. The page also prints "Additional carrier fees apply" beside every rate, and the article it links covers only the United States and Canada; the Australian carrier-fee cells on the page itself are blank, so the size of any Australian surcharge is unpublished.

ClickSend Pricing Review

ClickSend Review

ClickSend is a cloud-based platform that offers a suite of communication tools, including SMS, email, voice, and fax messaging, as well as marketing and automation tools.

Our August 2026 pricing comparison found ClickSend competitive among Australian SMS providers, but its tier structure is the most widely misread in this market. ClickSend’s rates step down on the size of a single credit top-up, not on how many messages you send in a month: AUD$0.0720 per SMS on Boost (top up from $20), AUD$0.0670 on Growth (from $500), AUD$0.0620 on Scale (from $3,000) and AUD$0.0570 on Enterprise (from $10,000). A business sending 60,000 messages a month in $200 top-ups therefore pays the 7.20c Boost rate, not the 6.20c its volume might suggest, a difference of roughly $600 a month. ClickSend also notes that additional carrier fees apply on top of these rates. Rates read from ClickSend’s published pricing page on 15 August 2026.

Sender ID registration and ClickSend

From 1 July 2026 the ACMA requires branded (alphanumeric) sender IDs sent to Australian numbers to be listed on the SMS Sender ID Register. Messages sent from an unregistered ID can be labelled “Unverified” by carriers or blocked outright. Registration runs through your telco or messaging provider, so confirm what ClickSend asks for before you set up a branded sender name. Our guide to opt-in and opt-out obligations covers what else the Spam Act 2003 requires of Australian senders.

Online Reviews

ClickSend SMS Gateway Solution

SMS Gateway is a website system that allows the distribution of SMS text messages from a web browser directly to customers or clients within the cell served by that particular gateway. A text message gateway enables any computer to receive or distribute SMS transmissions through various telecommunication network providers.

ClickSend’s popular HTTP to SMS gateway API can distribute mass text messages over various mobile telecommunication carriers’ networks, with company names such as Telstra, Optus, Virgin, and Vodafone. The SMS integration is made simple by its SMS gateway API, with a range of downloadable sample codes available to ensure its compatibility with the business or organisation systems.

An SMS gateway needs reliability for those who require communication or marketing campaigns for:

  • Time-sensitive text messages;
  • Text message alerts;
  • Private text messages where security and confidentiality are critical;
  • The need for a customer to reply (2-way) to the text message.
  • Customers are to be reminded about an upcoming appointment or an alert.

Verification log

Every figure on this page comes from a page the provider or a named third party publishes. The site does not open accounts or send test traffic, so this is the record of what was read and when. Where a capture is linked, it was taken from an Australian IP address, because several providers serve a different rate card, currency or number type depending on where the request comes from.

CheckedDate readWhat it said
Published rate cardClickSend tiers by the size of a single top-up, not by monthly volume: 7.2c from a $20 top-up, 6.7c from $500, 6.2c from $3,000 and 5.7c from $10,000, AUD excluding taxes.
