CompleteSMS review

CompleteSMS suits an Australian business that wants fixed monthly SMS allowances with per segment overage and unlimited account users. Plans run from $29.00 AUD excluding GST a month for 400 up to larger tiers. The key limitation is contract terms, because the service agreement defers the Initial Term and renewal to an Account Details Addendum, so you should confirm your written account terms before committing.

No overall score

One of 56 brands reviewed. Not in the priced comparison: Monthly plans have allowances, activation fees and optional sender costs.

Right for you if
  • Five published monthly Australian plans from $29.00 AUD excluding GST a month for 400, with overage rates that fall as plan size rises.
  • Unlimited users on monthly plans, so a team can share one account without per seat fees.
  • Both an HTTPS JSON API and an SMTP email gateway, plus browser bulk sending, giving you several integration paths.
Look elsewhere if
  • No monthly allowance rollover is verified, so confirm in writing what happens to unused segments before committing.
  • The service agreement names Red Oxygen Inc, its affiliates and subsidiaries as contracting parties, while the ABN 51 097 164 371 belongs to Red Oxygen Pty Limited, so the counterparty on your account needs confirmation.
  • Dedicated numbers and sender IDs attract separate activation and monthly fees on top of plan pricing.

It excludes optional dedicated numbers, sender ID fees, forwarding and negotiated quotes. Unused included messages are shown, though no rollover is assumed. Enter billable SMS segments, not contact counts. See the SMS segment counter for details.

What CompleteSMS is

CompleteSMS is a Red Oxygen solution introduced in 2025. The Australian entity behind it is Red Oxygen Pty Limited, ABN 51 097 164 371, active since 15 January 2001 and registered in Queensland postcode 4000, with CompleteSMS registered as a business name from 6 December 2025. An Australian office operates from Spring Hill QLD on 1800 770 758, alongside global offices. One point needs care. The service agreement dated July 2025, published on the provider website, names Red Oxygen Inc, its affiliates and subsidiaries as contracting parties, together with an Account Details Addendum. The ABN alone does not prove which entity signs your contract, so check the counterparty on your account details.

Monthly pricing

The published Australian monthly plan prices are billed in AUD plus GST and apply to messages sent to Australian numbers. Plans scale from $29.00 AUD excluding GST a month for 400 through to larger tiers, with overage cents per extra segment falling as the plan size rises. Each account activation carries a $20.00 AUD excluding GST charge, applied once. Monthly plans include unlimited users. Optional dedicated numbers cost $29 a month plus $29 activation on the Australian monthly table. Confirm GST on this optional number line, and custom sender IDs carry a per SMS surcharge with a registration fee and a monthly fee, all excluded from the calculator. The tax treatment of optional numbers needs confirmation when quoting. Prepaid bundles exist separately with GST included pricing and 365 day credit expiry, marketed as twelve months. No monthly rollover is verified. Marketing states no contract and free cancellation at any time, but the service agreement sets the Initial Term and renewal in the Account Details Addendum, so rely on your written account terms rather than an unqualified cancellation promise. Plan details are published on the provider pricing page under the Australia monthly heading.

Setup and sending options

You can send through the browser in bulk, through the HTTPS API, or through the SMTP email gateway. For a broader SMS API comparison, our API gateway overview places these integration paths side by side. The HTTPS API is documented in the SMS API v1.1 specification linked from the provider resources page. A request carries a JSON Sender object with AccountId, Username as an email, and Password, posting to the send endpoint. Each request accepts up to 500 recipients, which is a per request cap rather than a throughput limit. Delivery receipts return to a Receipt Callback URL when you set ReceiptFlag to 1 or 2, with email fallback if the URL is null or fails. Replies work the same way through ReplyType H and a Reply Callback URL. A 15 day trial exists with limited whitelisted numbers under the trial terms.

The email gateway

The SMTP gateway suits teams that prefer email over code, and our email to SMS providers guide covers this pattern generally. Format 1 sends to a mobile address at the gateway domain, joins the subject and body, and truncates at 160 characters without long SMS support, a provider-documented limit. Format 3 sends to a fixed gateway address with X-Cellphone recipient rows in the email body, a blank line, then the message, allowing up to 765 characters, billed at 153 per part beyond the first 160, also as documented by the provider. A published SMS segment counter can help you estimate parts before sending. Authentication accepts a registered From address with your own static SMTP server IP, or an AccountID with a user password. Shared hosted email IPs are not suitable for identifying a single customer for IP authentication, so confirm a suitable method with the provider before relying on a hosted mailbox. Replies go back to the original sender by default. Outlook and Gmail addins are also available, which is separate from the SMTP format itself. For crafting message content within these limits, see our guide to writing SMS.

Reliability and limitations

No uptime claim was verified for this review. Credit expiry of 365 days applies to prepaid terms only. The 500 recipient cap and the Format 1 truncation are the main documented operational constraints. No hands on account or message testing took place, because this is a documentary review of provider sources read on 23 October 2026.

Support

Support runs through the Australian phone line plus live chat and ticket channels, as listed on the provider contact page. Business hours are not verified. No free inbound pricing is verified, so confirm inbound costs with the provider before porting or advertising a reply number.

Verdict

CompleteSMS fits an Australian business that wants documented monthly plans, unlimited users and both API and email sending paths. Confirm the contracting entity, the Initial Term in your Account Details Addendum, and the tax treatment of optional numbers before you sign. For a wider monthly SMS plan comparison, our Australian business SMS overview places these plans against alternatives, so you can weigh the documented tiers against your expected volume.

CompleteSMS questions

Can I send SMS by email without writing code?

Yes. The SMTP gateway accepts plain text email at registered addresses. Format 1 joins the subject and body and truncates at 160 characters, while Format 3 uses X-Cellphone recipient rows in the email body and allows up to 765 characters, billed in 153 character parts beyond the first 160. Authentication uses a registered From address with a static IP, or an AccountID with a user password.

How does the HTTPS API handle delivery and replies?

Each request accepts up to 500 recipients. You set a Receipt Callback URL with ReceiptFlag 1 or 2 for delivery notifications, and ReplyType H with a Reply Callback URL for inbound replies.
