SMSFlow at a glance
SMSFlow is a web-based bulk SMS platform and REST API. It serves Australian businesses only, and it sends only to Australian numbers. A valid ABN is required to open an account.
The company behind it is SMSFLOW.COM.AU PTY LTD, ABN 83 687 813 798. ABN Lookup shows an active Australian private company registered in June 2025 in South Australia, postcode 5072, and its terms give Auldana, South Australia. ACMA's approved list for the SMS Sender ID Register lists SMSFlow as a certified telco and an originating telco.
One naming conflict is worth noting. The site footer says "SMSFlow Pty Ltd", while ABN Lookup, the terms and the privacy policy all say SMSFLOW.COM.AU PTY LTD.
How SMSFlow pricing works
You buy prepaid credits, priced in AUD excluding GST, and the credits never expire. There is no monthly fee and no lock-in contract. The minimum purchase is 500 credits.
The price per credit depends on the size of a single purchase. You pay 4c at 500 or more credits, 3.5c at 1,000 or more, 3c at 10,000 or more, 2.5c at 100,000 or more, and 2c at 1,000,000 or more. At 1,000 messages a month bought in one purchase the rate is 3.50c, and at 15,000 it is 3.00c. A first purchase is charged 2c per credit at any size.
SMSFlow does not state in words that one standard SMS uses one credit. Its API documentation shows a 160-character message using one credit.
New accounts get 50 free credits after ABN, email and two-factor verification. One dedicated number comes free with any credit purchase, and extra dedicated numbers cost $10 a month each. Replies are free and arrive in an inbox.
SMSFlow features
The platform covers CSV and Excel contact import, merge fields, templates and scheduling with timezone. Scheduled sends can be cancelled but not edited. Automatic STOP handling is built in, and there is no limit on users.
The REST API uses a bearer API key and a per-message delivery status callback, with a limit of 10 requests per second. There are no SDKs. Zapier is supported for connections to other tools. A campaigns feature is in beta.
Alphanumeric sender ID of 2 to 11 characters is supported, and SMSFlow lodges the ACMA application for you. A sender ID cannot receive replies, so use the dedicated number when you want replies.
What SMSFlow does not publish
SMSFlow does not publish a phone number or support hours. Support is a web contact form and email. There is no uptime commitment, and the terms disclaim availability.
MMS, email to SMS, SMPP, RCS and recurring sends are not published. No certifications and no founding year appear on the site. The product is web only, with no app.
Where SMSFlow's own pages disagree
The delivery claims differ across pages. Some pages state 98%, one states "100%+", and another says "Guaranteed Delivery".
The free dedicated number is also stated two ways. The FAQ says every account includes a free number, while the pricing and sender ID pages say it is free with a credit purchase.
SMSFlow says no data leaves Australia, while its privacy policy says some analytics data is processed in the United States. SMSFlow also says it is 100% Australian owned and operated, with servers in Sydney.
Who SMSFlow suits
SMSFlow suits an Australian business that wants simple prepaid sending, a free dedicated number with an inbox, and an API for its own systems. The 2c first-purchase rate and credits that never expire make it easy to trial.
Look elsewhere if you need MMS, email to SMS, a published support phone line, or an uptime commitment. A business that messages overseas numbers cannot use it, because it sends only to Australian numbers.
