Where Texto stands
Texto is an Australian business SMS platform operated by Floop Pty Ltd (ABN 65 689 489 629), and ACMA's approved list for the SMS Sender ID Register names it as an originating telco under the business name Text To. It charges a flat 3c per SMS to Australian mobiles as prepaid credits, with volume packs down to 2.2c per SMS at 1,000,000 credits. The trade-off for a buyer is that its own Terms say the service is not intended for high-volume senders dispatching millions of messages a month, and its Terms also say it "does not offer a free trial" while its pages advertise 5 free SMS credits on signup.
Listed as Text To, a business name of Floop Pty Ltd (ABN 65 689 489 629), the company Texto names as its operator. ACMA's list read 19 September 2026.

A flat 3c per SMS to Australian mobiles, AUD excluding GST, paid as prepaid credits that expire after 12 months; one credit is one SMS part (160 characters, then 154-character parts). Volume packs bought upfront: 250,000 credits at 2.6c, 500,000 at 2.4c and 1,000,000 at 2.2c, and pack credits expire 3 months after purchase. 250,000 a month is carried at the 250,000-credit pack; every lower volume at the standard 3c. No contract, setup fee or monthly minimum. Texto's pages disagree on whether a $15 a month dedicated number is needed: the pricing page calls it optional, while its Terms say sending "requires an active Dedicated Number Subscription". Its Terms also say the service is "not intended for high-volume senders dispatching millions of messages per month".

What Texto is
Texto is an Australian business SMS platform for Australian businesses only, not personal use. Its site says it is operated by Floop Pty Ltd (ABN 65 689 489 629), an active Australian private company in Victoria, postcode 3000, with "Text To" as a registered business name. ACMA's approved list for the SMS Sender ID Register lists "Text To" under that ABN as an originating telco.
How Texto pricing works
You pay as prepaid credits, and one credit is one SMS part. A message up to 160 characters is one part, and longer messages split into 154-character parts. The standard rate is 3.00c per SMS to Australian mobiles, AUD excluding GST, so at 1,000 messages a month you pay $30 and at 15,000 you pay $450. Standard credits expire after 12 months.
Volume packs bought upfront drop the rate: 250,000 credits at 2.6c, 500,000 at 2.4c and 1,000,000 at 2.2c per SMS. Pack credits expire 3 months after purchase, far sooner than the 12 months on standard credits. There is no contract, no setup fee and no monthly minimum.
The Texto dedicated number
A dedicated Australian number costs $15 a month excluding GST. Texto's pages disagree with each other on whether you need one. The pricing page calls the dedicated number optional, and one homepage FAQ says you do not need one. Another homepage FAQ and the pricing FAQ say you need one, and Texto's Terms say sending "requires an active Dedicated Number Subscription". Replies need a dedicated number either way.
Texto sending features
Alphanumeric sender IDs of 2 to 11 characters are supported, and Texto registers them on the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register free of charge, typically in 5 to 10 business days. A sender ID cannot receive replies. Two-way SMS runs through a conversational inbox on a dedicated number. Scheduling sits in the web app, though the API does not list scheduling. Campaigns go to 50,000 recipients by default, raised on request, and you can send by CSV upload or pasted numbers. MMS is not offered. Texto's FAQ says it sends SMS (text messages) only.
The API and email to SMS
The SMS API uses REST and JSON with a bearer API key, signed webhooks for delivery receipts and inbound messages, and an OpenAPI specification. Official SDKs cover Node.js and TypeScript, Python, PHP and .NET. The limit is 50 requests per second per key, and batch sends reach 1,000 recipients per request. SMPP is available on request. An MCP server for AI agents is also listed.
Email to SMS uses the address format [mobile]@emailtosms.texto.com.au. Your sending domain must be registered in the dashboard with SPF and DKIM records. Replies come back as email when you send from a dedicated number.
Who Texto suits, and the volume limit in its Terms
Texto suits a business that wants a simple prepaid Australian SMS tool with a working API. Its Terms say the service is not intended for high-volume senders dispatching millions of messages a month, while its pricing page sells a 1,000,000-credit pack. Read both before you buy a pack.
Support runs by email and live chat, and Texto says live chat runs 24/7. There is no contractual SLA on standard plans. Its status page showed 99.99% to 100% uptime over 90 days when read. Texto does not publish a street address, a founding year, a named carrier, ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification, or a phone support number. New Zealand costs 9c per SMS and needs a New Zealand shortcode at $200 setup and $100 a month. UK, USA and Canada are on request with no published price.
